Located in Longfeng Village, Luoshui Township, Yongding District of Zhangjiajie City, Longfeng Terrace is said to be built in Spring and Autumn Period (770-221AD). At present, there are over 6,000 paddy fields available for sightseeing, with a drop of 1,158 meters. It is the most concentrated, largest and most magnificent terrace in the whole country, and was approved as one of the top 10 terrace landscapes of China’s beautiful countryside. Spring farming and autumn harvest period are the best time to visit beautiful Longfeng Terrace. At the entrance of Baoeryanya of Tianquan Mount, tourists can visit the whole Longfeng Village.
Luoshui Township is famous for its unique terraced landscape and rich ethnic features, and is known as the “Hometown of Chinese folk culture and art”. Every year on the 6th day of the sixth lunar month, Tujia people in Luoshui Township hold a grand “Tujia Carnival” event, which commemorates the hero King Qin Long with national folk performances such as Maogus dance, Yangxi opera, lanterns, etc.
