To check out Wonderland Zhangjiajie

A special cultural and tourism column was created by Red Net Mobile News and Red Net Culture under the guidance of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, which aims to present the beautiful scenery of Hunan province and accelerate the recovery of its cultural tourism market. Zhangjiajie was also promoted on this column.

There are peculiar sandstone peaks and magnificent karst landforms, Tianzi Mountain, Huangshizhai, Baofeng Lake; there are international competitions such as wingsuit flying, high-altitude steel cable and car drifting, which shows the excitement of extreme sports; there are also distinctive homestays hidden in the deep mountains. Thi is the “Wonderland Zhangjiajie".

1.Pandora's Wonderland

Pandora World in the movie "Avatar", especially the floating "Hallelujah Mountain" is amazing. This mountain is filmed in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the core scenic spot of Wulingyuan, where the natural scenery is famous for unique peaks, tranquil valleys and beautiful forests. The main attractions are Huangshizhai, Golden Whip Stream, Tianzi Mountain, Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Ten-mile Gallery.

The prototype of "Hallelujah Mountain" in "Avatar" is the Qiankun Pillar located in Yuanjiajie. Yuanjiajie is located in the north of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, backed by the rocky peaks and mountains, and faced with the valleys and peaks. The main attractions include the back garden, the Ecstasy Terrace, and the No.1 Bridge in the world.

Visitors can take the "World's First Elevator"-Bailong Elevator, on which a magical landscape painting will come into visitors’ view.

Golden Whip Stream is located in the east of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and the eastern line is known as the most beautiful land boundary in Wulingyuan. The stream runs through the peaks and valleys, with ups and downs, flowers and plants thriving by the stream. People walking along the stream feel like in the middle of a painting, and it is a must-visit scenic spot of Zhangjiajie.

2.Tianmen Mountain: a paradise for extreme sports enthusiasts

Tianmen Mountain is named after Tianmen Cave, a natural wonder. The tourist traffic of Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park has distinctive features, such as the Tianmen Mountain Cableway, the winding Tongtian Avenue, and the glass skywalk on the cliffs. It is also known as a paradise for extreme sports.

Here, the flying master drove the plane through the Tianmen Cave, the "Spider Man" climbed the Tianmen Cave with bare hands, the "High Altitude Man" challenged the high-altitude tightrope walking on foot, and there is also mankind's first unpowered flight through the Tianmen Cave. Every year, various extreme sports competitions are staged in Tianmen Mountain, and you may be able to witness the miracle happen with your own eyes while traveling.

The Tianmen Mountain Cableway is one of the longest alpine cableways in the world. The cableway has a total length of more than 7,400 meters and a level difference of more than 1,200 meters. A one-way trip will take nearly 28 minutes. It is one of the "Four Wonders" of Tianmen Mountain.

Tianmen Cave is suspended on a cliff of 1,300 meters above sea level on Tianmen Mountain. The 999 stairs in front of Tianmen Cave are not only a way to reach the top of Tianmen Mountain, but also a holy place for prayers.

Tianmen Mountain glass skywalk hangs on top of Tianmen Mountain. Tourists walk on the skywalk, with the deep valley under their feet, which is very thrilling.

3.The Grand Canyon Glass Bridge

The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Scenic Area is located in Cili County. The Grand Canyon Glass Bridge in the scenic area is 430 meters in length, 6 meters in width, and about 300 meters high from the bottom of the valley. It is the longest and highest fully transparent glass bridge in the world. Bridge experts at home and abroad rated it as "a miracle in the history of world bridge construction." Standing on the bridge is like standing on top of cloud, bringing extreme excitement.

4.Maoyan River

Maoyan River, located in the western part of the city, is more than 50 kilometers in the upper reaches of Lishui River. It is known as the "Hundred-mile Gallery". There are mountains, waters, karst caves and ancient villages on both sides of the river. In Maoyan River, it is not severely cold in winter or scorching hot in summer, with its annual average temperature of 16.8℃. April to October is the best time to travel.

In the Maoyan River Scenic Area, a tour guide who loves aerial photography used a drone to photograph a stunning view: a heart-shaped lake surrounded by thick vegetation, which is a new place worth visiting.

In midsummer, the best thing is to do is to go rafting on the river with friends.  The is surrounded by green forests and mountains. Riding a raft along the meandering river among the green trees will drive away the weariness and boredom of the urban life and allow you to enjoy the coolness and excitement.

5.The beautiful homestay

No. 5 Valley is hidden in a quiet valley 2 kilometers away from the core scenic spot of Wulingyuan. The valley is verdant all the year round, surrounded by thick grass and shrouded in clouds, like a secluded heaven. Lying on the edge of the pool and overlooking the entire canyon from highest point, you can see the rolling mountain peaks and hilly terraces, which are rare to be seen in a lifetime.

Dayong Mystery Inn is more than an hour’s drive from the city, where there are bamboo seas, bird flocks, small artificial terraces, and old wooden houses highlighting the delicacy and quality of life. There are many 5A scenic spots in China, and many farmhouses located in scenic spots, but few like Dayong Mystery Inn.
