Surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers, Fairy Creek is located in the south of Yongding district, Zhangjiajie city, Hunan province, only 4 kilometers away from the city center. The more you walk along the creek, the more you can feel its unique mystery. Especially you will feel like walking in a fairyland due to misty and dim mountains and rivers after rain.
Fairy Creek got its name for the self-born fairy statue in the hollow cave and has been well-known for its beautiful scenery. Fairy Misty Rain is one of the eight scenes in the old Yongding county. There is a dam and a large and deep reservoir. One can row on it along the reservoir channel to see a naturally-formed fairy Bodhisattva, looking like Guanyin, in a stone cavern called Kongke (“hollow cave”). In the old society, many villagers came here to burn incense and bow in worship. Standing on the side of the hollow cave and looking south, you can see gray clouds, like a drizzle, on the Xiongbiyan, which is so called Fairy Misty Rain. A fine drizzle veils the cliff as the wind blows, as if a beautiful ink painting.
Main tourist attractions
If you want to see the wonders, you can walk along the river of Xianrenxi village up to the Heidu Bay to see the Bodhisattva in the cave, which is so named Xianren Cave. Many people came here to burn incense and pray for blessings of immortals in the old society.
It is hidden in the clouds deep into the stream. Different from Tianmen Cave in Tianmen Mountain, it stands alone in the mountains, just like the real Tongtian Gate (which means the gate to heaven). The naturally formed strange mountain peaks next to it is a natural landscape, as if divine troops descending from heaven guard the gate.
