48-Village Scenic Area boasts stunning scenery, legends

Zhangjiajie48-Village Scenic Areais located inGuangfuqiao Town, Cili County, opposite to Wulei Mountain and Xingde Mountain. The picturesquescenery of these villages leaves visitors spellbound.
41 kilometers from Cili County, Guangfuqiao Town is at the intersection of Zhangjiajie City, Changde City, Cili County, Shimen County and Taoyuan County. Owing to its prime location, Zhangjiajie 48-Village Scenic Area has attracted many outdoor enthusiasts and archaeologists.
It covers an area of 40 square kilometers, with over 120 miraculous mountains.Legend has it that “Dashing King” Li Zicheng,a Chinese peasant rebel leader,built these 48 majestic villages with 36 palaces, 72 halls and nearly 10,000 mu (666 hectares) of grain fields.Today, many of these relics still exist.
