If you are tired of seeing lakes and seas, it’s a good choice for you to travel in Zhangjiajie during the upcoming May Day holiday.

Zhangjiajie, formerly known as Dayong City, is a prefecture-level city in Hunan Province, with two districts and two counties. It’s located in the northwest of Hunan Province, upper reaches of Lishui River, and hinterland of Wuling Mountains. Renowned for its unique peak forest scenery, Zhangjiajie is also a revolutionary resort.

Zhangjiajie is the origin and core area of the revolutionary bases of the border of Hunan and Hubei provinces, the west of Hunan and Hubei provinces, as well as Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Guizhou provinces. It’s the hometown of Marshal He Long, the founding father of the People’s Republic of China, the birthplace and the starting point of the Long March of the Second Front Army of Chinese red army.

It has 115 revolutionary cultural protected units, He Long’s Former Residence and Memorial Hall of He Long were included into the list of China’s 100 classic revolutionary attractions, and China’s 30 revolution-themed tourism routes. In 2019, together with Jinggangshan, Zunyi, Sangzhi County was rated as China’s most popular revolution-themed tourism destinations.

In order to meet passengers’ travel demands, China Southern Airlines (CSA) will increase more round-trip flights between Zhangjiajie and Shenzhen on May 4. The flight number is C8514/3, and the departure time is 21:40 or 18:50. It’s expected that from May 1, 3 direct flights between Zhangjiajie and Quanzhou will be added.

From May 1 to 5, CSA will operate 57 flights from Zhangjiajie to 11 domestic cities like Xining, Zhengzhou, Yancheng and Beijing.

In order to meet the demand of transfer passengers, passengers from Zhangjiajie can transfer to everywhere via CSA Changsha, including Haikou, Sanya, Hohhot and other cities to which there is no direct flight in Zhangjiajie. This builds a fast and convenient “air express” for business and travel passengers.

During and around the May Day holiday, CSA will also launch some preferential tickets, including ones for flights from Zhangjiajie to Changsha, Yancheng, Shantou and Guangzhou.
