Recently, Wulingyuan Scenic Area and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Administration signed tourist agreements with 8 universities in Hunan province and launched the strategic planning of “famous mountains and famous universities”. Centering on existing basis and resources, the scenic area and universities will establish partnerships involving investigation and evaluation on tourism resources, ecological study on the scenic areas and research on the development of local culture and tourism, etc.
Relevant officials introduced the scenic areas and the cooperation, and represented Wulingyuan Scenic Area to sign framework agreements with 8 universities including Hunan Normal Universities, Central South University of Forestry and Technology, Xiangtan University, Jishou University, Hunan University of Technology and Business, Changsha University, Hunan Women’s University and Hunan University of Arts and Science.
Wulingyuan Scenic Area has been focusing on cooperation with universities and has established cooperative relationships with many universities such as Tsinghua University and Sun Yat-Sen University. It is the first time for the scenic area to sign agreements with so many universities in one time.
Next, it plans to build partnership with 30 universities across the country and set up bases for enterprises, universities, and research institutes as well as practice or creation bases for university students, so as to make full use of its social benefits and share resources. Moreover, it can not only help nurture talents, but expand the popularity and influence of the scenic area.
With nearly 40 years’ development, Wulingyuan Scenic Area, where China’s first national forest park is located, has scored remarkable achievements in tourism development and tourism resources protection. Besides, it is also an ideal place for universities, especially tourism colleges to carry out investigation, research as well as professional internship programs. This cooperation will advance the industrial transformation and upgrading, eco-environmental progress, talents introduction and cultivation of Wulingyuan Scenic Area.
