Guangzhou Railway runs more trains to meet travel rush

During the 2022 Spring Festival travel rush from January 17 to February 25, the China Railway Guangzhou Group plans to arrange 1,790 pairs of railway trains before the festival, a year-on-year increase of 61.5 pairs and an average of daily 1,821 pairs of railway trains after the festival, a year-on-year increase of 57.5 pairs, with the transport capacity reaching a new record high.


 
To meet people’s needs of traveling, the Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua High-speed Railway will be put into operation for the first time, with a total of 28 pairs of trains.

The head of the Passenger Transport Department of the Group introduced that 46.5 million trips are expected to be made during the 2022 Spring Festival travel rush, which will be a year-on-year increase of 5.872 million or a growth of 14.5%.

At the same time, the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway and the Zhangjiajie-Jishou-Huaihua High-Speed Railway will be put into operation for the first time. Major railway stations like Guangzhou, Guangzhounan, Shenzhenbei and Changshanan will see more trips with their passenger capacity significantly improved.

During the travel rush before the festival, the Guangzhou Group will improve the passenger capacity of popular railways such as Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Railway, Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway and Hangzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway by running more trains on some railway lines and two EMU trains connected to each other so as to meet people’s keen traveling demand from Guangdong to Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Chongqing.



 
During the 2022 Spring Festival travel rush, Guangdong will arrange 710 pairs of outbound trains, an increase of 33 pairs over the same period of last year. To ensure the smooth return trip from Hunan during the travel rush after the festival, the Guangzhou Group will arrange 221 pairs, one pair more than last year.

The Guangzhou Group will open an additional 157 pairs of night high-speed trains running to popular destinations such as Chengdu, Chongqing and Wuhan during the travel rush this year, a year-on-year increase of 19 pairs. Meanwhile, it will extend the service section of some railway routes.

The Guangzhou Group reminds that as all major railway stations have upgraded the new function of ticket changing on the ticket vending machine, passengers who have booked e-tickets without taking the reimbursement voucher can deal with the ticket changing via the ticket vending machine.
