Zhangjiajie has more than 300 scenic spots, including two 5A scenic spots; 33 ethnic groups, 818 intangible cultural heritage items in ten categories, seven dramas, and two national culture and industrial demonstration bases. All these figures are the best annotation to Zhangjiajie as an internationally renowned tourist city.
The glass bridge of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, named “Yun Tian Du”, is a landscape bridge, serving as a pedestrian passage, T-platform and for sightseeing, bungee jumping, rope skating, , etc.
Its main span covers 430 meters, and the relative height between the bridge deck and the bottom of the canyon is about 300 meters. It is the world’s first cable-stayed Alpine Canyon glass bridge, the world’s highest and longest glass bridge, and the world’s first use of new composite materials. It has become the first bridge project in Hunan Province to win the highest international award.
The world’s first high-altitude canyon pedestrian glass bridge was opened to tourists in August, 2016. It caused a global sensation with its unique charm. It also won the “Arthur Haydn” award for its innovation at the 35th World Bridge Conference in June, 2018, which is regarded as the “Nobel Prize” for bridges.
Meanwhile, Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon glass bridge, as the world’s highest pedestrian bridge, was selected into the Guinness World Records in 2019.
The high-altitude zip line project in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Scenic Area was officially put into operation in July, 2020. The project has six sets of 12 reciprocating high-altitude zip lines, with a total length of 358 meters and a height of 302 meters. It can allow six people to slide for three minutes each time. This project has enriched tourists’ experience and better met their needs.

One was Wreck Gorge, as it is said that many broken boat plates gushed from the spring in the past, but the local people had no idea where they came from; water in the canyon and the southern Red Flag Canal all came from. The other name was Spring Gorge, which refers to numerous streams and springs out of two stone walls.
