The plaque awarding ceremony for Chen Nengkuan’s former residence was held recently.
Chen Nengkuan, born in Jiangya Town, Cili County, is a famous metal physicist, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a recipient of the “Two Bombs and One Satellite” merit medal and one of the founders of China’s nuclear weapons industry.
He has made immortal contributions to the development of China’s nuclear weapons and the high-edge science and technology of national defense.
With a total investment of 2 million yuan, Cili County has organized professionals to repair and expand Chen Nengkuan’s former residence three times.
Chen Nengkuan’s former residence was awarded many honorary titles such as “Hunan provincial cultural relics protection unit”, “Youth Patriotism Base” and so on.
The former residence of Chen Nengkuan will drive the whole society to further promote the spirit of scientists, inspire the majority of science and technology workers to make innovation, and create an atmosphere of respect for knowledge, innovation, science and talent and dedication to science.
