Baofeng Lake

Baofeng Lake is listed World Natural Heritage, and has the reputation of “Classic Lakes of the World”. Located in the core area of Wulingyuan, the lake is an artificial lake surrounded by mountains, and was formerly named Shijiayu Reservoir. The Baofeng Lake Scenic Area has many fascinating views including Baofeng Waterfall. It was renamed after the Baofeng Mountain in the area.




The Baofeng Lake Park covers an area of 274 hectares (2.74 square kilometers), and consists of Baofeng Lake and Yingwo Village.  In the southeast lies Baofeng Lake, which covers an area of 30 hectares (300,000 square meters). It is of 72 meters depth and 150 meters wide at most, and the water storage reaches over 4 million cubic meters. Northwest of the park is Yingwo Village where Tourists can enjoy wonderful views on its mountain top.




Main tourism spots in the area are Baofeng Waterfall, Baofeng Temple, Yingwo Village and Shufeng Platform.
