2nd World Heritage Photography Exhibition to be held in Zhangjiajie

The second World Heritage Photography Exhibition will be held in Zhangjiajie City  from November 28 to December 4, and the opening ceremony will be held in the ancient city of Dayong on the morning of November 28.

The theme of this exhibition is “Exchange, Share, Protection and Inheritance”. It has received more than 50,000 works submitted by more than 17,000 photographers from all over the world, and will hold 16 large-scale exhibitions, like World Heritage Photography Masters Tribute Exhibition and Famous Artists Invitation Exhibition, as well as a series of activities, like Chinese and Italian World Heritage exchanges, photography master lectures.

The Invitational Exhibition invites 12 influential photographers from home and abroad. World Heritage through the Eyes of Diplomats will feature 40 photographs shot by 40 diplomats. Colorful Xiaoxiang Image Long Scroll Works will be exhibited in Zhangjiajie Tour Exhibition, allowing visitors to appreciate the Hunan culture.

The World Heritage Biennale of China and Italy will feature more than 100 photographic works from 56 World Heritage Sites in China and 58 World Heritage Sites in Italy. This exhibition is rich in content and novel in form, which is an international, professional and academic exhibition.

The scale and influence of the exhibition have gradually expanded with more works submitted. It is expected that through the continuous holding of the exhibition, photographers can see the world, let people from all over the world understand China, share photographic art through this platform, and gradually build Zhangjiajie into a center of collection, exhibition and exchange for world heritage images, and contribute to Zhangjiajie’s construction of a world-class tourist destination.

World Heritage Photography Exhibition has become an important brand activity of China Photographers Association to record, publicize and promote world heritage through excellent photographic works. It brings an immersive experience to the audience, attracting more than 10,000 photographers at home and abroad and hundreds of thousands of visitors to visit, and has exerted a wide impact on all walks of life.

2022 is the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, and the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China’s first national forest park, and the 30th anniversary of Wulingyuan’s inclusion in the World Heritage List.

The second World Heritage Photography Exhibition aims to collect, exhibit, exchange and inherit world heritage, establish a world heritage image data center, arouse the public’s awareness of the protection of world heritage, promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, and show Zhangjiajie’s unswerving efforts to integrate world heritage protection with tourism development, build a world-class tourist destination, and make world heritage rejuvenated.
